Activated carbon removes dissolved organics, residual chlorine, taste, odor and selected micropollutants. Granular beds provide continuous polishing, while powdered carbon supports flexible dosing during seasonal or variable loads.
Discuss Your ProjectIndustry overview
Activated carbon is a mature, cost-effective adsorption media widely used for liquid-phase water treatment. Its highly developed microporous structure and huge specific surface area efficiently trap dissolved organic contaminants, residual chlorine, chloramines, color, odor compounds, pesticides, pharmaceutical residues and trace heavy metals from water streams.
Our granular, pellet and powdered activated carbon grades are engineered for fixed carbon filters, adsorption towers and dosing systems, serving both municipal drinking water and advanced industrial wastewater polishing.
When water flows through activated carbon bed, dissolved contaminant molecules are captured inside carbon pores via physical adsorption. Specially modified activated carbon also enables catalytic reactions to decompose residual chlorine and chloramines. Saturated carbon can be regenerated or replaced for continuous operation.

Product parameters
Recommended starting ranges for technical discussion. Final values depend on the stream, test method and buyer specification.
| Carbon option | Iodine value | Typical size | Suitable conditions | Selection effect |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coconut shell GAC | 900–1200 mg/g | 8×30 / 12×40 mesh | Drinking and process water | Micropore adsorption; high hardness |
| Coal-based GAC | 800–1000 mg/g | 8×30 mesh | Industrial water and wastewater | Broad pore distribution |
| Nutshell GAC | 900–1100 mg/g | 8×30 / 20×40 mesh | Fixed-bed polishing | Durable granular media |
| Powdered carbon | 700–1000 mg/g | 200-325mesh | Batch or emergency dosing | Fast dispersion and flexible dose |

Frequently asked questions
Need a faster review? Send the available process data with your inquiry.
Yes. Share your process data and target limits so we can prepare a relevant evaluation sample. Freight is normally paid by the buyer.
Iodine value, particle size, strength, moisture and packing can be discussed against the equipment and required outlet quality.
Please provide the stream composition, target contaminants, inlet and outlet limits, flow, temperature, humidity or pH, contact time and current equipment.
Service life depends on actual contaminant loading, competing compounds and operating conditions. Pilot testing and breakthrough monitoring provide the most reliable estimate.
