Hard coconut-shell activated carbon adsorbs dissolved gold-cyanide complexes in CIP, CIL and related recovery circuits. Adsorption activity, particle size, hardness and resistance to attrition directly affect recovery and carbon losses.
Discuss Your ProjectIndustry overview
Activated carbon is the core adsorbent for modern precious metal hydrometallurgy, most famous for gold recovery from cyanide leachate. Its tailored pore structure has strong selective adsorption capacity for gold cyanide complexes, capturing dissolved gold and silver efficiently from leaching slurry or solution.
Our high-hardness coconut shell granular activated carbon is specially manufactured for mining CIP (Carbon in Pulp) and CIL (Carbon in Leach) processes, resisting abrasion and breakage under continuous agitation.
After gold ore is leached by cyanide solution, gold forms soluble gold-cyanide complex. When slurry contacts activated carbon, gold complex molecules are selectively adsorbed onto carbon surface. Gold-loaded carbon is screened out, then goes through stripping and electrowinning to separate and recover metallic gold. The regenerated carbon can be reused in the adsorption circuit.
