Gas Purification with Activated Carbon — Industrial Gas Treatment Solutions

Activated carbon is a proven, cost-effective adsorbent widely used for industrial gas purification. Thanks to its highly developed microporous structure and large specific surface area, it can efficiently trap volatile organic compounds (VOCs), hydrogen sulfide (H₂S), mercury vapor, siloxane, malodorous molecules and other gaseous pollutants from gas streams.

Our activated carbon products are custom engineered for continuous gas-phase adsorption, suitable for fixed-bed adsorption towers, scrubbers and vapor recovery systems.

Core Application Scenarios

  1. Biogas & Landfill Gas Purification Remove hydrogen sulfide and siloxane from raw biogas, protect gas engines and pipelines from corrosion, improve biogas quality for power generation.
  2. VOCs Abatement for Manufacturing Capture solvent vapors (toluene, xylene, ethyl acetate, acetone) released from painting, printing, coating, chemical and pharmaceutical production, helping factories meet emission compliance requirements.
  3. Odor Control for Wastewater & Waste Treatment Plants Eliminate offensive odors including hydrogen sulfide and ammonia at sludge dewatering rooms, aeration tanks and waste treatment workshops, improving working environment.
  4. Natural Gas & Petrochemical Gas Sweetening Adsorb mercury vapor and trace organic impurities from natural gas and LNG streams, prevent damage to heat exchangers and downstream processing equipment.
  5. Flue Gas & Incineration Gas Treatment Capture mercury, dioxins and residual organic pollutants in flue gas for waste incineration and thermal treatment facilities.

Why Choose Our Activated Carbon for Gas Purification

  • High mechanical strength, low dust generation for long continuous running
  • Tailored impregnated carbon available for targeted removal of H₂S, mercury and acid gases
  • Stable adsorption capacity under low-to-medium concentration gas conditions
  • Multiple forms: pellet activated carbon, granular activated carbon and powdered carbon for different process designs
  • Consistent batch quality, ready for bulk export for industrial gas purification projects

How It Works

Gas flows through the activated carbon bed. Contaminant molecules are trapped inside carbon pores by physical adsorption. For special pollutants, chemically impregnated carbon creates chemical reactions to permanently capture toxic gases. Once saturated, carbon can be regenerated or safely replaced.
