Activated carbon is a proven, cost-effective adsorbent widely used for industrial gas purification. Thanks to its highly developed microporous structure and large specific surface area, it can efficiently trap volatile organic compounds (VOCs), hydrogen sulfide (H₂S), mercury vapor, siloxane, malodorous molecules and other gaseous pollutants from gas streams.
Our activated carbon products are custom engineered for continuous gas-phase adsorption, suitable for fixed-bed adsorption towers, scrubbers and vapor recovery systems.
Gas flows through the activated carbon bed. Contaminant molecules are trapped inside carbon pores by physical adsorption. For special pollutants, chemically impregnated carbon creates chemical reactions to permanently capture toxic gases. Once saturated, carbon can be regenerated or safely replaced.
Chemical, biogas energy, wastewater treatment, printing & coating, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, waste incineration, food processing.

Product parameters
Recommended starting ranges for technical discussion. Final values depend on the stream, test method and buyer specification.
| Carbon option | Iodine value | Typical size | Suitable conditions | Selection effect |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coal-based extruded carbon | 800–1100 mg/g | 2mm/4mm/6mm/8mm | Fixed beds; VOCs and odor | Stable airflow and broad adsorption |
| Honeycomb carbon | 600–900 mg/g | 100×100×100 mm
100×100×50 mm |
High-volume, low-concentration exhaust | Low pressure drop |
| Coal-based granular | 800–1000 mg/g | 4×8 / 8×16 mesh | Solvent vapor and process gas | Balanced capacity and strength |

Frequently asked questions
Need a faster review? Send the available process data with your inquiry.
Yes. Share your process data and target limits so we can prepare a relevant evaluation sample. Freight is normally paid by the buyer.
Iodine value, particle size, strength, moisture and packing can be discussed against the equipment and required outlet quality.
Please provide the stream composition, target contaminants, inlet and outlet limits, flow, temperature, humidity or pH, contact time and current equipment.
Service life depends on actual contaminant loading, competing compounds and operating conditions. Pilot testing and breakthrough monitoring provide the most reliable estimate.
